About Steven G. Rogelberg, PhD: Dr. Steven G. Rogelberg, an organizational psychologist, holds the title of Chancellor’s Professor at UNC Charlotte for distinguished national, international and interdisciplinary contributions. He is an award-winning teacher and recipient of the very prestigious Humboldt Award for his research. He has over 100 publications addressing issues such as team effectiveness, leadership, engagement, health and employee well-being, meetings at work, and organizational research methods. His latest book, “The Surprising Science of Meetings: How You Can Lead Your Team to Peak Performance” (Oxford) was recognized by the Washington Post as the “#1 Leadership Book to Watch for in 2019,” by the Business Insider as “The Top 14 Books everyone will be reading in 2019” and by SHRM as “Top 10 favorite new books”. He and the book were also featured on CBS This Morning Freakonomics, HBR, WSJ, BBC World to name a few.
Adam Grant has called Steven the “worlds leading expert on how to fix meetings”. Steven keynotes span the globe focusing on the science of meetings, and meetings’ strategic linkage to inclusion & diversity, engagement, leadership, innovation, and organizational success.
He consults for small and large organizations, including IBM, TIAA, Cisco, Procter & Gamble, Family Dollar, 3M, Corning, KPMG, Siemens, and others. In addition, Rogelberg founded and currently directs large outreach initiatives focusing on nonprofit organization health and effectiveness with more than 1,000 nonprofits served. He was the inaugural winner of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology Humanitarian Award.
About David Youssefnia, PhD: David Youssefnia, co-founder of Uplevel, is responsible for infusing organizational science into the Uplevel platform so managers and engineers can do their best work. Prior to co-founding Uplevel, David founded and sold the successful consulting firm Critical Metrics, retained by leading companies to help improve engagement and manager and team effectiveness. He has also served as an advisor to several technology companies in the HR and Consumer Analytics space. Earlier in his career, he helped build an employee research practice at Mercer, a global consulting firm. David holds a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the City University of New York.
