SEATTLE, WA, Oct. 21, 2020 – Uplevel, a leading engineering effectiveness platform, today announced sustained business momentum since its move out of stealth mode in January 2020. The company also welcomed Mike Clapson as vice president of sales. With a strong foundation in global enterprise sales, Clapson will focus on expanding the mission of empowering engineering effectiveness at Uplevel.

“Launched early this year, our solution has seen significant demand and has already been improving the effectiveness of our customer’s engineering teams – especially as companies embrace remote work,” said Joe Levy, co-founder and CEO, Uplevel. “We’ve seen our customer base grow by 40% this year and have grown our own team by 25% to support them. We are thrilled to welcome Mike to Uplevel to help more companies realize the benefits of a more effectively run engineering organization.”

As one of the first three salespeople at Slack, Clapson has been on the forefront of helping engineering teams collaborate effectively. At Slack he held several roles including the Head of Growth for APAC where he was the founding member of the go-to-market team for the region. He subsequently led the Enterprise West business in North America where he and his team signed on many of the world’s leading technology companies. Clapson also held sales & leadership roles at SAP and Mobify.

“The impact that engineering teams have on business outcomes today has never been greater,” said Mike Clapson, vice president of Sales, Uplevel. “Solutions that reduce delivery risk and increase engineering velocity are in high demand and I’m excited to help our customers address these complex problems. I enjoyed helping to build Slack into a world-class business and product for technical teams and look forward to doing that again at Uplevel.”

In response to the shift to remote work this year, Uplevel – in June – launched three new features, designed specifically to support managers in effectively leading work-from-home teams. By giving organizations the tools to identify things such as  burnout, isolation, and throughput, Uplevel customers have been able to transition smoothly into all-remote work. These features are generally available with Uplevel software.

Since moving out of stealth, Uplevel was also listed as part of Built In Seattle’s 50 Startups to Watch in 2020, was included in Seattle Business Magazine’s 100 Best (Small) Companies To Work For and was a finalist for Geekwire’s Startup of the Year Award.
